He won a Filmfare Award in 2005 for Best Male Playback Singer (for the title song of Aashiq Banaya Aapne), becoming the first music composer to achieve this feat. Reshammiya has also released a solo music album entitled Aap Ka Suroor which became extremely popular. He has made it clear, however, that he still plans to put most of his effort in Hindi films.
I’m not a Himesh fan but I would like to say that he has full right to acquire a style of his own…And if he likes to sing with a nasal touch and wear a cap all the time, then let him do so.
Whatever the people say, I must like to add that he indeed gives great music in films, his most earlier songs in the films being a hit!
Only did he surface more after he started singing with ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’…
Even his singing is good if we forget the nasal thing. His ’surs’ are perfect, his variations are great and what else do we want in a singer. At least he is better than those numerous ‘Atif Aslams’ that we are getting today and those so called ‘Indian Idols’ who don’t know the ABCs of singing!
Well to me he is gud, his music is acceptable even great sometimes and as a person I don’t know him, so I can’t comment on that!
