Even though I'm not a fan of "Last House on the Left", I do enjoy many of the rip offs because they crank up the violence a little more and scrap the comedy relief from those two cops that greatly undermined the power of "Last House on the Left". "Night Train Murders" is basically an Italian retelling of "Last House on the Left" only this time it takes place on a train. This one though is very goo more

"Night Train Murders" is basically an Italian retelling of "Last House on the Left" only this time it takes place on a train. This one though is very good. First off, the violence is very satisfying. There is a good deal of blood and the rape scenes are very troubling, as they should be. One rape even involves a knife! The revenge is also done in a very brutal and drawn out fashion that is sure to make exploitation fans happy. Needless to say, this is not a movie for the feint of heart, but for those of us that like or films to be savage and in your face with their portrayal of violence, this is a winner. Exploitation elements aside this is still a good film. The characters were quite interesting and I really enjoyed the score. It also has a good amount of quotable dialogue. The direction by Aldo Lado (who was responsible for one of my favorite gialli "Short Night of the Glass Dolls" and well and the fun "Who Saw Her Die?") is quite good. He pours a lot of energy in this and really knows how to lay down the sadism. Yeah their isn't anything original in this film, it follows the same plot structure of "Last House on the Left", only changing the settings, but its still a very cool rape/ revenge film nonetheless. And besides its not like "Last House" was all that original itself.
