This heart wrenching film directed by Jonathan Hacker follows four child survivors of the holocaust in France as they return to the places where they hid during the war. Although many French citizens could be said to have helped the Nazis in their work – a lot of courageous people risked their lives to save others and this film constantly keeps one thinking about what one might have done more
This heart wrenching film directed by Jonathan Hacker follows four child survivors of the holocaust in France as they return to the places where they hid during the war. Although many French citizens could be said to have helped the Nazis in their work – a lot of courageous people risked their lives to save others and this film constantly keeps one thinking about what one might have done at that time. Would we have followed orders if we were a French policeman with orders to make the arrests or looked the other way and let a child escape; would we have risked our own family by taking a Jewish child into our home? A brilliantly crafted piece of work
