I stumbled upon this short film randomly at the Venice Film Festival last fall, I think it was up for an award, I don't quite remember how I ended up in the theater, but I have to say, I have never seen anything like it before. It was emotionally completely overwhelming- an absolutely brilliant, innovative use of visuals, music, and sound to convey a single mood and theme. It wasn't narrative, but it wasn't experimental in the modern artsy pretentious way either. It was something completely new and different. It really was like watching a piece of art; albeit a very disturbing piece of art.The director mentioned that the piece was unfinished; I can't wait to see a full feature by him. He's one of those innovative young filmmakers that could change the medium.
