The cast and crew of John Carpenter's landmark creature feature sit down and share their remembrances of making this film. The cast and crew of John Carpenter's landmark creature feature sit down and share their remembrances of making this film. It's not like a traditional documentary, with a narrator or host taking the viewer through every step of the film, but basically a series of sit-down interviews. This feature-length documentary is included on both the original and re-vamped DVD releases of the movie, and I find it great fun to watch. In fact, I've watched it more than once because these stories are fun to hear (makeup effects creator Rob Bottin tells what are far and away the funniest stories). What is probably the best thing about it is the chance to see some vintage "making-of" on location footage from 1981.The stories take the viewer through the steps of making the film, including casting, location scouting, and special effects. There's not a single dull moment in the film.DEFINITELY, well worth your time.10/10
