The TV serial "The Sword of Tipu Sultan" by Sanjay Khan is based on a historical fiction. It's not a fiction, it's historical fiction and there is a difference between a simple fiction and historical fiction. A historical fiction is like a novel that includes short stories and those stories may be irrelevant to the realities. Sanjay Khan's drama on Tipu Sultan was based on a novel and that novel was a fiction based on a true story. Whatever is about Tipu Sultan in that novel is true because Tipu Sultan who was the main character of that novel was a true historical figure but the story of Tipu Sultan was presented in form of a novel and Sanjay Khan serialized that novel on TV. The last episode of that TV serial is wonderful. Tipu Sultan is famously known for his final battle which he fought against the British so bravely that he became the only king in Muslim history and perhaps in world history who died on the battlefield in face of defeat and death. Recently there has been another novel on Tipu Sultan called (The only king who died on the battlefield) and that novel got published in United States. The novel is available on (www.amazon.com)
