Sin City Diaries (2007): Amber Smith, Justin Anthony Lopez, Elena Talan, Marc Appleby, Hanna Harper....Director John Quinn, Robert Kubilos, Sam Melo, Teleplay/Series Writers...Jeffrey Pittle, Sandy Travis, A.G. Lawrence, Doug Miller, N.D. French.Cinemax After Dark features soft-core erotica starting just after 12 midnight. These are various series and sometimes feature films with plot, characters, a good story and soft-core sex scenes. At the beginning of the year (2007), Cinemax premiered Sin City Diaries starring adult film star Amber Smith. At first glance, it appears to be a mainstream TV series set in Las Vegas. The series follows the experiences of hosts and hostesses of a popular nightclub and hotel in Las Vegas. Many regular "Skinemax" actors and actresses, along with newer faces, have guest starred. Each episode runs almost an hour long and the style and cinematography of the series resembles that of a quality TV series (the NBC Las Vegas series comes to mind. Shot in Las Vegas and in studio interior sets, many episodes are well-written and there is, for being a soft-core erotic series, a substantial amount of good acting. Amber Smith is a narrator and hostess Angelica, the brains behind the business of hotel management in Vegas. Working with her is the sexy and muscular bodyguard Matthew and her personal assistant, the petite Russian Sasha (Elena Talan). A relationship begins to develop between Matthew and Sasha and it's fun to watch as it unfolds. The following episodes I've really enjoyed: Episode "The Boss' Daughter": A wealthy high-roller comes to the casino hotel and his daughter seduces an employee of the casino and trains him to become the next big wig in her father's business.Episode "Angelica Needs A Vacation": Tired of the hard work of running a hotel nightclub, Angelica goes off to a resort elsewhere in Vegas where she gets a massage and where she indulges in pleasures she had'nt previously enjoyed. Meanwhile, Sasha and Matthew's relationship becomes more intense.Episode "Tour of Duty": Soldiers and marines home from Iraq enjoy night time pleasures at the strip club and a New Age type wedding takes place at the pool terrace.Episode: "To The Extreme": A successful boxer chooses a life of domestic happiness with his girlfriend and gets off steroids and the pressures of Las Vegas style boxing.Episode: "Good Enough To Eat": A cooking contest is on and aspiring chefs at the hotel battle it out while at the same time working on their own feelings for each other.The writing is terrific, it's wonderful to see some good acting and higher quality soft-core porn series. Despite the fact that simulated sex can get mild and repetitive, the writers make it so that each sex scene is different and more engaging than the last and I must say it's HOT STUFF. They don't shy away from using realistic, almost hardcore looking sex in various positions and including lesbian sex. There are brief glimpses of both male and female genitals in some parts. The sex is not the only thing that's good about this series, though. As mentioned, this is one of the better quality adult series with good story lines.
