Also known as "Dada" and born 8 July 1972, lives in Kolkata, formerly Calcutta, West Bengal, he made his One Day International debut against Australia in 1992, and a Test debut versus England in 1996. He went on to become the captain of Indian cricket team from 2000 to 2005. He has led India to the World Cup 2003 finals, and holds the Indian captaincy record for the most Test victories.
But after a row with coach Greg Chappels, Sourav was temporarily dropped from the squad and Rahul Dravid was named his successor. But Ganguly made a comeback after more than a year out of cricket by hitting a well deserved half century by scoring 51 and a highly successful series as well

he shud get a chance in his time, he is gettin old, so better give him chance, he is experience which amtter s most in situation like cricket.
