The Indians may be down but they are never out. Their free fall in the World Cup would have crushed many a team. But, given a tour of England in the balmier half of the summer, Team India can expect to bounce right back, coach-less though they may be. There is one good reason for what might seem to many like misplaced optimism.
If you are a batsman and sunny England beckons in July-August for a Test series you should be packing your bags with a song on your lips. The Caribbean may be a tourist's paradise. Ask any cricketer and he will aver that England is the true home of cricket. And a visit in the sunny half of summer is just what the doctor ordered for a nation that simply loves to bat. India's batting constitutes the reason for optimism.
